In this BikepackingTrip Starting from Salzburg you cross the alps twice. You will discover various mountain ranges, all terrain from tarmac, to gravel, to technical single trail and of course you will discover the incredible hospitability of Austrians, Slovenians, Italians and Germans.

This is a four-day bikepacking adventure through Austria, Slovenia, Italy, and Germany I planned years ago as my first bikepacking trip. This journey is a testament to the joys and challenges of bikepacking, featuring breathtaking landscapes, unexpected detours, and the thrill of conquering some of Europe’s highest passes.
Be aware that i haven't ridden this exact route since, so I don't know if it is still rideable in that form.

Route Details
Day 1: A Bumpy Start
Kick off your adventure with a 134 km ride, battling nerves and the elements. The day begins with a mix of excitement and chaos as you pack your gear and hit the road. The route features a challenging climb, rewarding you with stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Day 2: Getting Lost
Covering 147 km, this day is all about embracing the unexpected. After a night of rest, you set out under clear skies, navigating through beautiful forest roads and trails. The biggest climb of the day leads you through the picturesque landscapes of Carinthia, where every turn reveals a new wonder.
Day 3: Getting Even More Lost
At 178 km, this day is a true test of endurance. Waking up to the sounds of nature, you ride through the serene Soca Valley, enjoying the tranquility before the crowds arrive. The route features steep ascents and thrilling descents, with breathtaking views that make every effort worthwhile.
Day 4: On the Home Stretch
Conclude your journey with a 149 km ride, featuring the iconic Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse. This final stretch is a celebration of your achievements, with stunning alpine scenery and exhilarating descents. The small paths offer a chance to escape the traffic and soak in the beauty of the mountains one last time.
