ZÜRI ESCAPE 2026

Registration is open from 26 December 2025, 3:00 pm until 3 January 2026. Start slots will be allocated by lottery among all registrations. Those who register but are not selected will automatically be placed on the waiting list.

Züri Escape is a self-supported bikepacking adventure with start and finish in Zurich. The predefined route takes you to incredibly beautiful, diverse, remote and surprising places. So close to the city, yet completely immersed in nature.

THE ROUTE

The route is 400 km long and demands a lot with 10,000 punchy metres of elevation gain. Apart from 1–2 hike-a-bike sections, 99% of the route is rideable on a gravel bike with low gearing.

A carefully scouted 400 km loop starting and finishing in Zurich. So close to the city, yet far out in nature. Züri Escape shows you new paths, magnificent landscapes, dreamy forests, mystical moorlands, abandoned tunnels, dark caves, … Those who look closely and stay curious will find adventure surprisingly close to their own doorstep.

At two checkpoints staffed around the clock, you’ll find food and always an open ear for the best stories from the road. Along the way, the route also regularly passes farm shops, bakeries and small general stores.

FULL GAS OR PARTY PACE?

No matter how fast or how relaxed you ride. This is not about records and trophies – it’s about the challenge, the adventure and a good time on the bike.

Tent, country inn, bivy or pushing through without sleep? Stove, campfire, restaurants or a quick resupply at the gas station? However you decide – enjoy your time out there!

SELF-SUPPORTED – THE RULES

In short: just you and your bike. Only use what is equally accessible to all other participants, and be kind. Respect nature, animals and people – and yourself too. In short: don’t be a jerk!

PARTICIPATION

Registration is open from 26 December 2025, 3:00 pm until 3 January 2026. Start slots will be allocated by lottery among all registrations. 100 participants: 70 solo / 15 pairs. Slots are allocated equally between women* and men.

ENTRY FEE

The entry fee is CHF 250.– per person.

START AND FINISH

The start is on Friday, 29 May, at 6:00 am.
Finish: We’ll meet on Sunday afternoon for a shared finisher party. If you realize you won’t make it back by the official cut-off time of 4:00 pm, simply shorten the route or inform the organizers.

Start and finish are at the cozy ZÜRI ESCAPE base camp, right in the middle of Switzerland’s biggest cycling festival – CYCLE WEEK. We have everything you need before and after a long adventure: a coffee truck, ice-cream bike, freshly prepared food, cold drinks, and a relaxed campfire for unwinding and sharing stories.
